365 #243 – Autumn fruit

The last day of August and the sight of blackberries are ripening heralds the end of Summer and approaching Autumn. It seems to me that they are ripening later this year, for me seeing blackberries always reminds me of when I was a child picking the wild fruit with my mother in Wexford and then the pot simmering as she made jars of blackberry jam.
