365 #318 – Diabetes blue circles

Today, 14th November 2011 is World Diabetes Day and I took part in a photowalk in Dublin to mark the occasion. A number of buildings/structures around the city were lit in blue to raise awareness. This shot was spotted by a friend, David Drysdale, and is the only shot from the night that I’m happy with. It features the Dublin Wheel which was lit in blue taken through a hole in the Samuel Beckett bridge. The bridge is white but for the occasion, in post processing I adjusted the white balance to give the shot an overall blue tint.

Many thanks to Diabetes Ireland who helped to promote the photowalk,  Photowalk.ie who facility arranging photowalks in Ireland, Pix.ie (the Irish photosharing site) who organised a special group to share our shots of the night and last but most certainly not least to all who took part in the photowalk.

  1. Who cares if that is the only one you are happy with. It works really well and the blue all over is brilliant. You can kind of get lost in it.
